Position Description:
The is an excellent opportunity for a very strong Oracle DBA to come in and help revamp the entire data structure of a renowned Houston company. In addition to the traditional DBA responsibilities, this individual will play a pivotal role in the data restructuring.
The Oracle DBA will maintain the overall Server Database Management Systems, the integrity and security of all the databases as well as the integrity of the data propagation process and associated databases. In addition, the DBA will assist the Business Area Specialists and the Application Development Manager with database design and development. Provides assistance on various report writer access, database views, and stored procedures related to all databases. The DBA will establish physical data base parameters, code data base descriptions and specifies identifiers of data base to data base management system or directs others in coding data base descriptions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Hands-On experience as an Oracle DBA using 10g
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle 10g database tables and data relationships
- Ten years experience administering, analyzing and/or developing relational databases, preferably Oracle
- Experience working as an On-Site DBA in an Oracle on Demand environment
- 5+ Hands on Experience with either Oracle 9i or 10g Backup,
- Performance Tuning
- PL/SQL Development experience
- Shell Scripting
- Data modeling
- Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills
