Sr. Consulting Network Engineer

Position Description:
As a Senior Consulting Engineer your primary responsibility is to provide design, consulting, and implementation and support services to the company’s customers. You will apply your years of consulting experience to various client environments and will liaise with clients, consultants and Engineers as well as work independently to implement Infrastructure solutions in various industries. This is an excellent opportunity for the Engineer with broad Network understanding who wants to work for a leader in the Network Solutions Industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Will provide technical leadership for Consulting Services projects.
  • Consult, assess, gather requirements and design highly technical requirements.
  • Convert requirements into actionable scope of work
  • Coordinate proof of concept testing.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to Customer
  • Perform analysis of the networking problems as well as provide highest-level crisis management.
  • Ensure familiarity with Customer network planning, implementation and support processes and procedures.
  • Be a customer technical liaison for the technical support and development teams.
  • Facilitate design reviews for proposed architectures.
  • Provide recommendations on viability, implementation strategies and optimal implementation of the solutions
  • Demonstrate expert level knowledge of network topologies and conditions. Ensure changes to network topologies are made with minimal down-time.
  • Engineers, configures, and leads the design, configuration and deployment of VoIP and data networks including LAN, WAN and VOIP, circuits, Windows Servers, MS Exchange, Cisco routers, switches, Sonic firewalls, SANs, load balancers and other network infrastructure devices.
  •  Assists clients in the daily maintenance of voice and data network infrastructure including LAN, MAN, WAN, WiFi, VOIP, NICs. Serves as tier 1, 2 and/or tier 3 resource for trouble tickets and work orders for voice and data networks and related network infrastructure devices.
  • Reviews data monitoring stats and confirms SLAs with carriers are being obtained.
  •  Reviews network utilization statistics to verify that circuits are properly sized. Takes proactive approach in provisioning bandwidth to meet needs or determines more analysis is required to determine types of bandwidth usage.
  • Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals.
  • Apply business development skills to identify potential sales leads and opportunities and communicate discovered opportunities to the regional sales team.
Required Skills
  • Expert-level experience in network engineering/implementation
  • Excellent technical skills on Service Provider networks.
  • Expert level hands-on operation of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers.
  • CCNP/ CCSP/ CCVP required
  • Experience with VOIP environments.
  • Experience working as a consultant is a significant plus.
  • Experience installing and supporting security, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and VM Ware a plus.
  • CISSP/ CCIE/ CCIE  certification preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience and extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN and WAN topologies, routing protocols, Unified Communications, WiFi, WAP, firewalls, routers, switches, hubs, VPN, IPSec,
  • Experience installing and supporting security, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and VM Ware a plus.
  • DHCP, DNS, WINS, SNMP, network monitors and protocol analyzers. Windows 2003/2000/NT. Cisco IOS, ASA.
