Position Description:
 
This is a high-profile role for an experience Applications Manager. The Applications & Database Support Supervisor’s role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications. The Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications. In addition, the Supervisor will devise and design business process requirements for all IT-related business, financial, and operations systems critical to core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems  
·         Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals
·         Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
·         Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in operating systems across the organization
·         Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed changes to aid management in making implementation decisions
·         Identify and establish scope and parameters of process analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria and measure-taking actions
·         Manage the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
·         Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts
·         Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings
·         Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
·         Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications
·         Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications
·         Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
·         Supervise and provide direction for the application development team in support of business operations
·         Provide technical leadership to project managers and programmers working on development project teams
·         Cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices
·         Develop, standardize, and maintain new or improved processes based on findings and analysis.
·         Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers
·         Liaise with various business groups in the organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes
·         Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other post-implementation support
·         Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members
 
 
Required Skills and Experience:
 
·         Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience
·         3-5 years of relevant experience in the following technologies:
o    ASP.NET 2.0/3.0
o    SharePoint (MOSS 2007 / MOSS 2010)
o    SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008
o    SQL Reporting Services
